The creative genius is the one who knows how to see “beyond the visual”: like Leonardo conceived his own code, so Fossi identified the Mona Lisa as an aesthetic connector capable of leading him to the unexplored ends of the hic et nunc. The serial accumulation of the original modules and the visual intensification of this bearing (supporting) marrow illuminate the artist in the awareness of having reached a point in his research in which he understands that the processes of decoding must find another intelligible escape route.
His works are nourished in this seat of the emotional and communicative chaos created by the “linea di fermo” that vibrating can generate infinite possibilities of combination and relationships. However, in this prevailing and impenetrable complexity there is a lack of understanding that must be scratched. There can be no research or scientific methodology without the will to unravel a tangle of apparently incomprehensible signs-symbols-structures, but which obscure a more solid memorial essence.
It is from the labyrinth of misunderstanding that Fossi returns once again to the zero degree of the sign and color, disentangling himself between echoes and expanded projections, overturning the tangle and discovering fragments of a message sprouted everywhere from seeds that the mother matrix has shed and that come to him in a synaesthesia of whispers and imprints.
